A birth chart (also called a natal chart) is a map of the sky at the exact moment and location of your birth. It shows the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, and astrological houses — giving astrologers a detailed snapshot used to interpret personality, strengths, challenges, and life themes.

What information do I need to get started?

You need your date of birth and the city where you were born. An exact birth time significantly improves accuracy — especially for house placements and your Rising sign — but it is optional. If you don't know your birth time, you can check "I don't know my exact birth time" and we will use solar noon as a neutral default.

What if I don't know my exact birth time?

Accepted Answer

Check the "I don't know my exact birth time" box on the chart entry form. We will use 12:00 PM (solar noon) as a default. The Sun, Moon, and planetary sign placements will still be accurate. House placements and your Rising sign will be estimated rather than exact.

Is Chart Your Astrology free to use?

Creating your birth chart and viewing the free preview (planetary positions, sign placements, and basic interpretations) is free. Full PDF reports with in-depth interpretations are available for purchase. There is no subscription — you pay once per report and keep the PDF forever.

Reports are generated as PDF files and made available for download immediately after purchase. You can download them directly from your dashboard at any time — there is no email attachment or waiting period.

How long are the PDF reports?

Report length varies by type. The Birth Chart PDF is 10–15 pages. Numerology is approximately 8 pages. The Astrocartography Map is the most detailed at 43 pages. Compatibility, Transits, and Past Life reports range from 10–20 pages depending on the chart data.

Can I get a report for someone else — a friend, partner, or family member?

Yes. You can add as many charts as you like to your account. Simply create a new chart entry with the other person's birth details. Each chart can be used to purchase reports independently.

What's the difference between my Sun, Moon, and Rising sign?

Accepted Answer

Your Sun sign (determined by your birth date) reflects your core identity and ego. Your Moon sign (determined by where the Moon was at birth) reflects your emotional nature, instincts, and inner world. Your Rising sign (Ascendant) is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth and shapes how others perceive you and how you approach the world.

What is an aspect in astrology?

An aspect is an angle formed between two planets in a birth chart. Specific angles — like 0° (conjunction), 60° (sextile), 90° (square), 120° (trine), and 180° (opposition) — are considered significant and reveal how planetary energies interact. Tight aspects (small orb) are generally more influential than wider ones.

What house system do you use?

We use the Placidus house system, which is the most widely used house system in Western astrology. It divides the sky into twelve unequal houses based on the time it takes degree points to move from one angle to another. Accurate birth time is important for Placidus house placements.

How accurate are the planetary positions in my report?

Accepted Answer

Planetary positions are calculated using precise ephemeris data, accurate to the degree and minute of arc. For birth time-sensitive placements (Rising sign, Midheaven, and house cusps), accuracy depends on how precise your birth time is. A time accurate to within 15 minutes will produce highly reliable results.

How does the compatibility report work?

The Compatibility Report (synastry) compares two birth charts by analyzing the angles formed between their planets — called cross-aspects. It identifies where two people's energies harmonize, where friction may arise, and which areas of life are most activated by the relationship. House overlays show where each person "lands" in the other's chart.

Does my partner need an account to get a compatibility report?

No. You just need their birth details. Add their chart to your account using their date of birth, birth time (if known), and birth city. You can then purchase the Compatibility Report from your dashboard — no action required from your partner.

The report can be tailored for romantic relationships, friendships, or business partnerships. The core synastry analysis applies to all relationship types, with interpretation copy adjusted to reflect the nature of the relationship you select.

Can I preview a report before buying?

Yes. Every report type has a free preview showing your chart wheel, planetary positions, and some basic interpretations. The full in-depth narrative PDF requires purchase.

How long do I have access to my purchased reports?

Your purchased reports do not expire. Once unlocked, they remain available for re-download from your dashboard indefinitely. There is no time limit or subscription renewal required.

Can I download and print my report?

Yes. All reports are formatted as print-ready PDFs. They are designed to print cleanly on standard letter or A4 paper and look great in both digital and physical form.

Can I change my email address or password?

Yes. Once you are signed in, go to Account Settings (linked in the navigation and on your dashboard). From there you can update your email address or change your password. Each change requires you to confirm your current password for security. Google Sign-In users manage their email and password through their Google account.

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Go to Account Settings while signed in and scroll to the Delete Account section. After confirming your password, your account and all saved charts will be permanently deleted immediately. This action cannot be undone. Downloaded PDF reports are yours to keep — they are not removed from your device. Stripe payment records are retained independently by Stripe for their compliance obligations.

Is my personal data secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Account authentication is handled by Firebase (Google). Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store your card details. Birth data you enter is used solely to generate your chart and reports. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Account Settings.
